Rod Weston from The Sons of Skip Skiffington has passed away on July 12 2008. I had been doing a lot of recording with Rod and Bryan over the past couple years and created a space on http://www.mudballrecords.com to showcase their music. We also made several videos and a DVD. Rod was a very intense, intelligent, and creative individual. I enjoyed doing projects with him and reading his email and letters. Even his letters were creative – he was into mail art as well so all of his letters were like works of art. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Rod.

Wow, these are getting funny. There is some virus we have been encountering recently that generates what looks like blue screen of death messages, but they are funny and use words like “panic” , if you hit the escape key you go back into windows. That’s how you know you have an infection because normally the escape key does not get you out of a blue screen of death.

Freespire/Linspire upset me recently when I went to use click and run. I used to LOVE this service as a great way to install Linux software. Well, they ruined it. There were all these additions, many not free, just a big cluttered mess I had to wade through. Then I found something I wanted to install and I got an error that it would not work with my os. I never had issues like this before, sucks, why did they ruin it? So then I heard that Xandros was purchasing Linspire. Ok , Xandros is nice , I have used it before, it is nice and clean and works great, but now I need Freespire even less. Delete. Yep, I wiped it. Thought I would go back and try a Debian install again. I have not done one of those in a while and I heard the installation was made smoother in the latest release. I also wanted to try the install with the single cd / internet installation based iso. That seemed interesting. I did and it worked great, if you have a high speed internet connection , it is a great way to install Debian, and yes the install was much easier than what I remember from the last time I did one , and took a lot less time to complete, yea Debian, woot woot!

So I posted on WordPress the live one care post that I got no search results on from blog.com to see if it would show up in a Google search from WordPress. It did not. For some reason my HP Notebook post comes right up if you are looking for information on where that hard drive is. But, if you search for the Live One Care error 0X04601C01 in which I have a solution that trumps most of the others, you never find my post. This is truly strange.

I found something interesting. I have 3 blogs but only one that I considered my main one , that main blog is at blog.com. WordPress was my secondary , however, after using both the first thing I noticed is that the WordPress one looks much better. Second, and this is very important, google searches for some reason do not show my posts in blog.com but wordpress usually shows up on the first page of a search. I have posted solutions for different pc related problems. When I search for a problem that I resolved on blog.com I had about 5 pages of information come back from my google search. I went through every page and my blog post was nowhere to be found even though it contained the exact answer to the search. WordPress on the other hand showed up seconds after I posted it on the very first page of the google search. I don’t know what the difference is but major props to WordPress and I believe I will do most of my posting here from now on.
